How to Configure Departments and Inspection Types

A walkthrough for agency admins on setting up departments, inspection types, and scheduling rules in Perspecs.
Departments
Departments let you organize your inspectors and inspection types by area of responsibility — building, electrical, plumbing, fire, etc. Each department can have its own set of inspectors and scheduling rules.
Inspection Types
Define the types of inspections your agency offers — rough framing, final, foundation, etc. Each type can be associated with one or more departments and has its own scheduling availability.

Time Windows
If your agency offers time window selection (morning, afternoon, all day), configure them in the agency settings. Contractors will see these options when scheduling.
Permissions
Control who can do what. Inspectors can only see their own queue. Admins can see everything, assign inspectors, and manage settings. Contractors can only see their own records.
