How to Schedule Your First Inspection on Perspecs

A step-by-step guide for contractors new to Perspecs. Schedule your first inspection in under two minutes.

Tip: You can schedule inspections from both the web dashboard and the mobile app. This guide covers the web experience — the mobile flow is nearly identical.

Step 1: Find Your Agency

After signing up and logging in, you'll land on the agency selector. Search for your agency by name or location. Once you select an agency, you'll see all your permits and records associated with that jurisdiction.

If you work with multiple agencies, you can switch between them at any time from the sidebar. Your data is isolated per agency, so you'll only see records relevant to the jurisdiction you're currently viewing.

Step 2: Select a Record

Navigate to your records dashboard and find the permit that needs an inspection. Click on it to view the full record detail — including address, contacts, inspection history, and current status.

From the record detail page, click "Schedule Inspection" to start the scheduling wizard.

Step 3: Pick a Date and Time

The scheduling wizard will show you a calendar with available dates. Dates that are fully booked or outside the agency's operating schedule will be grayed out. Select a date, and if the agency supports time windows (morning, afternoon, etc.), choose your preferred window.

Step 4: Review and Confirm

Review your inspection details — record, inspection type, date, time window, and contact information. Hit confirm, and your inspection is scheduled. You'll receive real-time status updates as the inspection moves through the workflow: from pending, to assigned, to inspector en route, to completed.

Once scheduled, the agency will assign an inspector to your inspection. You'll see the status change in real time on your dashboard — no need to call the agency for updates.
